One hell of a fine south african film is hitting our local cinemas on the 17th of february. material the movie stars the one and only riaad moosa.

riaad plays a young man who works at his father’s fabric store and destined to take over the family business. but, through a series of crazy coincidences, he ends up participating in an open mic night and from that day forward the path that was set for him does not seem as bright as it once was.

we can’t wait for the movie! watch the trailer and you’ll share out sentiment.

shaun white is pretty much a household name nowadays. his ventures on the skateboard and the snowboard have earned him a place in extreme sporting history. just check out some of accolades courtesy of wikipedia:

 • in 2003 white was the first to compete and medal in both the summer and winter x games in two different sports.
 • white is the first snowboarder ever to land back to back double corks, at the red bull superpipe.
 • he remains the only skater to land the frontside heelflip 540 body varial. (the armadillo).[10]
 • he was the first to land a cab 7 melon grab in vert skateboarding.
 • he is the first snowboarder to win back-to-back gold medals in the winter x-games superpipe.
 • he is also the first athlete ever (on snowboard or skis) to win gold medals four years in a row in the winter x-games superpipe.
 • he is the first (and only) person to win both a summer and winter dew cup.[11]
 • white was the first to “three-peat” in superpipe at the winter x games.
 • shaun white holds the record for the highest score in the men’s halfpipe at the winter olympics. in 2006, his 46.8 points bested ross powers’ previous record of 46.1 from 2002. in 2010, during the winter olympics in vancouver, he improved his own record with 48.4 points in his final run.
 • well now he has just completed a perfect run scoring 100 out of 100 for his snowboarding vert run in the winter x-games…impressive

aah ricky, how you make us laugh so! last night ricky gervais hosted the 2012 golden globe awards to much anticipation. if you have not heard about his antics when he hosted 2011 award ceremony then, in a nutshell, after the show america hated him, the hollywood foreign press disowned him and then, all of a sudden, he was invited back…and he doesn’t disappoint.

this is incredible…in teahupoo something stirred the ocean…and then people surfed it!

“this day at teahupoo- aug 27th 2011 during the billabong pro waiting period is what many are calling the biggest and gnarliest teahupoo ever ridden. chris bryan was fortunate enough to be there working for billabong on a day that will go down in the history of big wave surfing. the french navy labeled this day a double code red prohibiting and threatening to arrest anyone that entered the water.

kelly slater described the day by saying “witnessing this was a draining feeling being terrified for other people’s lives all day long, it’s life or death. letting go of that rope one time can change your life and not many people will ever experience that in their life.”

just watch the clip…
